Hi, my name is Jordan.  I am eleven years old, but you would never believe that unless someone told you.  I have plenty of energy for walks and playing with toys.

My story is kind of sad.  My family had me from the time I was just a puppy, but my mom became very sick and could no longer care for me.  She has to go to the hospital a lot.  Fortunately, someone told her about the people at Eskie Rescuers United, and I was able to move to my foster mom’s home where I have two foster sisters whom I get along with fine although I do try to nudge them out of the way sometimes, so I can get all the petting.  My family chose not to neuter me, so my foster mom had to take me to the vet for that.  I will be honest; I do not like the vet very much.  I had an undescended testicle, which when removed, was tested and identified as a benign seminoma.  The vet said the good news is that removal is all that was needed because any further problems from it would be extremely rare. I am fully vetted, including a dental.

I am wary with strangers at first, but I love my people.  I would really love it if someone could be home with me during the day although I wait patiently for my foster mom to come home from work.  She lets me sit in her chair with her and lay my head in her lap. I would be best with an owner who is experienced with and knowledgeable about Eskies. If you would like to know more about me, please contact my foster mom at fredapotter@yahoo.com

P. S.  Did I mention how absolutely gorgeous am I?

Update: 5/28/14  I have been with my foster family for about 6 1/2 months now, and my foster mom just loves me.  I no longer try to nudge my sisters out of the way for attention. I have learned that mom can love all of us.  Still, being the one and only would be lovely.  I really enjoy walks.  I also like to sit in my own personal chair in the fenced area of the yard. I do jump down and get excited at the sight of neighborhood cats.  Mom thinks it would be better if I was in a home without young children because I really, really like food and sometimes forget my manners and try to take it from someone's hand without permission. If she tells me "no," I remember not to do it though. She also thinks a calm household would be best as I get a little anxious if there is a lot of activity. You might notice in my pictures that my coat has gotten very thick and fluffy.  I think a grain free diet agrees with me.  If you would like to know more about me, my foster mom would be happy to fill you in on my greatness.

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
