About Hallee

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Rescue ID: 05-091
Hi, my name is Hallee! I'm a 2-year old miniature or small standard-sized American Eskimo female who stands 12 inches tall and weighs 21 pounds. I was quite badly abused and neglected prior to coming to this wonderful new foster home. My front legs are bow-legged, but that doesn't bother me or slow me down. (I think I must have been a cowgirl in a previous incarnation and ridden lots of horses! HeHe!) And now that I'm getting good nutritious food, my hair is growing back beautifully. My foster mommy says I have the cutest baby face, with sad mournful eyes that just cry out, LOVE ME!!!

I'm spayed, current on all my vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm, flea and tick prevention. I'm not yet fully housebroken, but my foster mommy is working very hard with me so I will become the perfect companion for my new forever family. I like riding in the car and I'm pretty much leash-trained, but I have to be coaxed and cajoled before I'll come to you to have my leash put on.

I'm crate-trained and sometimes prefer being in my crate, because I'm still kind of scared and jumpy. I like getting my treats when I'm safely inside my crate, now that I'm starting to figure out what treats are! I also love my baths--probably because no one ever gave me baths before. But they sure are fun! :o)

I get along well with other dogs, although I don't play with my foster brothers and sisters (I don't really quite understand that concept of "play"). We don't know about cats, because my foster mommy doesn't have any. I'm still scared of people (including kids) and of sudden noises or movements. Until I get used to new people I will retreat to my crate where I feel safe. After I'm in there though, I don't seem to mind having them around. However, it might be better if I were in a home without small children, because sometimes they can be noisier and more rambunctious than I would be comfortable with.

I'm so sweet and loving and laidback that I will never give you any trouble. I have no aggression issues of any kind. I just want you to love and pamper me and treat me kindly, to help me forget that awful life I once had. I'm not used to being shown kindness or affection, so please don't be offended if I stiffen up when you pick me up. Once I get to know you and realize you aren't going to hurt me, I will come up to you and give you kisses--and hope you will give me lots of petting in return! My foster mommy thinks I will become even more affectionate once I find my own forever family who will help me not to be afraid anymore--will that be you?

I am always so happy whenever I see my foster mommy, because she treats me so kindly and gently, and I promise I will be that way with you as well! Wouldn't you love to have me in your home and give me a chance at a wonderful life? If you're interested in me, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad" if I'm not local to you. This is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain distance to get me to you! I'm in Clinton, IL with my foster mommy, Angela.

For more information on me, please contact Wanda at: wanda@eskierescuersunited.org or feel free to e-mail my foster mommy directly at: angela@eskierescuersunited.org.

You can also go to our web site at: www.eskierescuersunited.org and fill out an adoption application for me. There is an adoption fee required to adopt me. Also, please be aware that Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its fosters as outdoor dogs.

Thank you and WOOF!

Hallee!

More about Hallee

Is Not Good with Kids

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
