About Eisenhower

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Rescue ID: 06-061
  • Housetrained: Yes
Hi, my name is Eisenhower! I'm a 1-year old small standard-sized American Eskimo male who weighs between 25 and 30 pounds. I just came into rescue after being given up by my previous owner. Don't you think I'm an adorable-looking guy? My foster mommy sure does! :o)

I will be neutered very soon, and then I will be available for adoption. I am current on all my vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm, flea and tick prevention. I'm housebroken and almost completely leash-trained, and I ride well in the car. I'm still kind of in that chewing stage, though, so you'll need to watch out for any shoes you may have lying around and be sure to tell me NO firmly if you see me carrying one around in my mouth.

I get along very well with other dogs, as well as with cats and with children. I'm a very friendly and playful guy who will make a great friend and companion for any household. My foster mommy doesn't have much other information on me at this time since she hasn't had me very long, but she said she'll be sure to let everyone know if she discovers anything else about me that you should know.

Though I'm not sure why my previous owner gave me up, I sure would like to find my new forever family. Wouldn't you love to have me in your home and give me a chance at a great new life? If you're interested in me and would like more information, please contact Allen at: allen@eskierescuersunited.org or feel free to e-mail my foster mommy directly at: debbien@eskierescuersunited.org. You can also go to our web site at: www.eskierescuersunited.org and fill out an adoption application for me.

There is an adoption fee required, and whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state. I'm in Columbus, MS with my foster mommy, Debbie.

To get me to you, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad," which is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain portion of the transport. (We always ask that you, as the adopter, help out by taking the final leg.) If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you may have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Also, please be aware that Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Thank you and WOOF!
