I have spirit, yes I do!! I have spirit, how 'bout you?!?!

I am a little guy with the heart and energy of someone much bigger. I will be your best cheerleader. I will sing and dance when you come home or just when I want you to play with me. I stand on my back feet and paw the air with my front feet. My foster family thinks it's the cutest thing ever. I can't disagree with them, 'cause I am pretty cute.

At 3-years-old, my family gave me away. Since then I have had lots of new experiences. I had a slumber party at the shelter. I was very scared because there were lots of dogs, big ones too. I went to the doctor for the first time ever and I had my first ever bath. I was well behaved even though I was very scared. At the vet, they said I was the prettiest Eskie ever. I even got a tattoo and a tracking device called a microchip. Aren’t I a cool guy? I hear I'm going to a dentist soon. I’m not sure what that is, but if it’s like a doctor, I’ll try to be very good.

I can’t tell you about my past life because I’m looking forward to my new life with you. Since I've been with my foster family, I've really started to come out of my shell. I love people and will dance and dance to show how excited I am to see them. You can pet me for as long as you want. When you reach down to me, I’ll drop my head and tail like a bow. I might even shake a little bit until I know that you won’t hurt a little guy like me. Once we've gotten to know each other, I'll push my head under your hand, and squirm and wiggle, and pat you for more petting. If you want, I'll even give you special kisses.

I will be a little nervous at first, but when I know I can trust you, I'll play with you on the floor. I'm a little nervous about being picked up or sitting on your lap, but you can play with me and my ball or toy and you'll see how much fun I can be. If you don't have time to play, I'll play with my toys by myself. I will toss the ball and chase it and bring it back to my spot . . .or I'll shake and shake a soft toy. I have so much fun.

When I came home, I had very matted fur. The lady said she would “try to save” my coat. I didn’t know what that meant, but I do now. Very gently for hours, she separated the mats around my mane. I LOVED it and would have sat there forever. But, when she tried to do that to my trousers, I let her know I did NOT like it at all. I was very sorry that I had to tell her I was not happy. I have a gorgeous coat, but there was white fur everywhere while she was cleaning me. With all the extra fur, I think she’s going to make a sweater so she can wear it and look just like me. Tee hee.

I live with two girls who look like me. They are nice and we play and wrestle a lot. We realy love to play "Zoomy" around the back yard. I jump and run in circles and they chase me. It's so much fun. I get along with other dogs, but I would prefer to play with you. I’m so darn cute that you would want to give me all your attention.

I don’t think I’ll be available very long because everyone will want me. Do you?

Good with Dogs

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
