Maggie
The kids in Maggie's family went away to school and no one wanted her anymore, so the owners dumped her in a local shelter. She came to Eskie Rescuers full of attitude and spunk, and enjoyed her time with her foster family. She especially loved the dog door and access to the fenced backyard, where she would sit outside and enjoy the sun on her back. Sadly, her heart, lungs and kidneys began to fail her and she started to suffer. Maggie never found her very own forever home, but her foster considered her "one of hers" and said she would be forever for her. We wish you could have spent more time with us, Maggie - but are grateful for the time we had with you. RIP........Helen Sanders, May 31, 2017

Marina
I was blessed to have to have been chosen to adopt Marina from ERU in 2011!! I was her mama. Yesterday sadly she went to the rainbow bridge. I am beyond sad and trying my hardest but it is hurting me beyond belief. I had to make that awful decision and take on this incredible pain so that my Marina will be at peace. I love you Marina ballerina!!! Your mama........Char Hi, June 23, 2019

Marley
And today we said goodbye to Tosh's bother Marley. This has been one of the hardest weeks. Marley had been making a gradual decline for about the last nine months, but it became obvious in the last week that the decline had accelerated. He was the more serious of our two pups. He was a protector by nature. But, he would play when Tosh shoved a toy in his face. We figure they are playing tug now at the Bridge. Run free and we'll see you again. Love you old man........Kimberly Bourne, June 8, 2017

Max
Max was rescued October 16th, 2015. Max loved his baby sisters, Kora and Luna, and his dad @Tommy Mattison. He had a rough life and came to us with over 300 engorged ticks and zero trust in humans or other animals. Vets estimated him to be 11 years old and said at the current state they only gave him one year to live. Thank god only the good die young, and Max brought lots of laughs (some ankle-biting and terror to all guests ) and so much love to his chosen few for another 7 years! We estimate he was around 18/19 years old when he passed in November of 2022. He was able to leave peacefully in his sleep next to his daddy. We are furever grateful that ERU allowed us to foster fail and give Max the best rest of his life.,,,,,,Jacque O’Rourke

Maxx
ERU asked me to foster a senior male because his mom had died suddenly in February, 2017. I agreed and Maxx came to live with my pack. He was a beautiful, quiet, gentle boy and I couldn't bear the thought of him having to adjust to another home, so I adopted him and his sister Jazmine. All was going well until October, when Maxx started having seizures every 4 hours. We were able to control them but he declined physically until he couldn't walk. RIP sweet Maxx. ‘Til we meet again.......May 21, 2003 - July 26, 2018, Jane Roberts
