I have an adoption pending!

Hi, My name is Elisa, but you can call me Junie (like in Junie B. Jones). I’m called that cause I’m a very sweet, happy, energetic and easy going girl. Like the storybook character, I’m kind of like a girl just starting doggie kindergarten. I’ve passed housebreaking 101 and I’m basically a good girl, but I’ve still need to learn a lot. If you adopt me, you’ll need to continue my education through some good obedience training. I’ll need you to spend time teaching me what you want, and what you don’t want.

I’m pretty high energy, almost constantly in motion, but I’m a lot of fun to play with. I love to be around other dogs and people. I actually bark more if there is no one to play and hang out with. I can get into a little trouble if left alone, so for my own good, I need to stay in a crate if you leave me alone. My foster mom calls me inquisitive, but like I said, my name is Junie.

Here’s all the details that my foster mom wants me to tell you. I’m a miniature eskie weighing in at 22 lbs and I’m about 16 months old. My birthday is 10/30/2005. I’ve been spayed (hey, what’s a spayed?) and am up to date on shots. I’ve been taking tests (told you I was in kindergarten), and I passed! I’m heartworm negative, so I’m taking heartworm and flea preventatives.

I’m hoping to graduate soon and get placed in a forever home. I would probably do best in a home that does not have young children because I can just barely control my own excitement. Like Junie B. Jones, I don’t like to ride the stinky bus to school. I get motion sickness when traveling in a vehicle. Maybe when I get older that will go away?

By the way, my mom tried to get me around horses, but I really don’t understand them. They start kicking and I don’t know what to do! Why do they do that?

I also play much too roughly to get along with cats. They're just another plaything for me, but I guess they don't like it when I try to bite them.

If you're interested in me and would like more information, please contact my foster mom Pat at pae31419@yahoo.com. You can also visit our website and sign-up to fill out an adoption application and learn more about our adoption process.

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state. I'm staying with my foster mommy, Pat, in Savannah, GA.

To get me to you, we can do what's called an "Eskie Railroad," which is a group of volunteer drivers who will each drive a certain portion of the transport. We always ask that you, as the adopter, help out by taking the final leg.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you may have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you).

There is an adoption fee required, and please be aware that Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Thank you and WOOF!

Elisa (Junie)
