Cookie is a sweet little Eskie mix, whose foster describes as a "dream dog". She is a 9 year old girl who is full of so much youthful energy, that her foster would like her to have a fenced yard to run her 'zoomies' in. She's full of love and affection, does well with other dogs (as long as they're not really rambunctious and in her face), good with all adults and respectful kids (but we don't know about toddlers). We think she would probably like to have a calm companion animal in her new home, but would probably be fine as an only pet.
Through no fault of her own, she has found herself looking for the place she will call home for the rest of her life. She's a healthy 26 pounds, completely vetted, heartworm negative, and recently had a dental cleaning. She's still learning to walk well on a leash (she likes to zigzag), but knows most commands; and she enjoys a good meal and being brushed. Like many Eskies, she has been known at times to have 'selective hearing'; she may not respond to some things you tell her, but she can sure hear the treat jar opening!
Cookie loves playing with her toys, and when inside likes peeking out the window. Her foster has noticed that she doesn't bark as much as other Eskies she has fostered in the past, but she will bark at the window to chase the letter carrier on to the next house. She also enjoys a warm day and rolling in the grass; and loves exploring at the dog park, often checking hollow tree trunks for critters.
