"Hi my name is Wiley and I am 4-5 years old. Please consider me if you are looking for a nice, quiet companion that is healthy and up to date on all vaccinations and flea and heartworm preventative. I was neglected in my original home, rescued by ERU and then adopted to a wonderful lady who loved me… but my adoptive Mom got very sick and had to be hospitalized. She could no longer care for me so I came back to ERU.  I’m looking for a new forever home. Could that be with you?

It takes me some time to warm up to people because I’m very shy but if you take the time to get to know me, you will find that I have many positive qualities.  I get along great with other dogs, cats and small animals. I’d like a home with less excitement than my current foster home. My ideal home with have 1 other dog or a cat to keep me company and allow me to get as much individualized attention as possible. I’m excellent with grooming and allow my foster Mom to brush me and trim my toe nails. Unlike other Eskies, I do not bark much and am quiet in the house. I walk nicely on a leash and ride well in the car. I’m best suited for a home with patient adults and older children. I am scared of small children and run away and hide when I see them. I am also afraid of thunderstorms, fireworks and other loud noises so my new family will have to be understanding of this.  I would be perfect for an older person needing a companion.

A SECURELY fenced yard is a must for me! When I first came to live with my current foster Mom, I escaped from a 6ft. fenced designed to keep two large German Shepherds safe. I did not climb the fence like my foster Mom thought but I did squeeze through a tiny gap where the fence meets the back of the house.  It is important for my safety to keep me on a leash and make sure I do not go on any unsupervised adventures."

If you're interested in me and would like more information, please contact ERU: contact@eskierescuers.org. You can also visit our website You can also visit our website and sign-up to fill out an adoption application and learn more about our adoption process.

Thank you so much and WOOF!

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
