**I'm located in Rockford, IL**

Hi, my name is Fancy- because I'm a fancy girl and I know it! I was dropped off at a shelter with a broken leg and sat there for 3 weeks before rescue found out about me. They picked me up and took me to the vet. The xrays showed that my break was already healing well. After my last check-up, the specialist felt I didn't need surgery. I will always have a little gimp to my gait, but that doesn't bother me.

****Update 6/1****
I've been in fostercare now for almost six months and no one has even put in an application on me! I'm a gorgeous girl who has completely healed and ready for my forever home!

I'm about 5 yrs old and I absolutely love people. While visiting the vet, every single person in the office came up to meet me- because I'm such a fancy girl. I give gentle kisses and even let the little ones pet me. Sadly, I don't like dogs that are bigger than me. I've met quite a few and I just don't like them. I'm fine with smaller dogs, in fact, if you have a playful one, I'd really like that!

I LOVE to play with toys and run around my fenced yard, I'll even take my toys outside and play. Unfortunately, with my newly healed leg, I've discovered that I can jump a 4-foot fence. So, I will need a 6-foot fence in my new home- no exceptions. My foster mommy has chased me too many times, so she's insisting on the higher fence.

I'm up-to-date on all my shots, heartworm negative and am mostly house-trained. I could also stand to gain some weight, but because I've been recovering from that bum leg, the vets wanted me to stay lighter to help the healing process. If you watch the video, you'll see what my leg looked like when I first came into rescue. Now, you'd hardly even notice I had a problem!

I'm ok with most smaller dogs, will chase cats, and I crave attention. I am crate-trained, so if you don't want me to sleep on the big bed, you can toss in a couple of treats into my crate and I'll go right in. I also need help with walking on a leash (there's just so much to see & smell!).

If you'd like to see me in action, you can watch me and my foster brothers when I first arrived at my foster home in January (copy/paste the following link into your browser): www.youtube.com/v/XORlkBiGgMY

If you're looking for a princess to spoil, then I'm your girl! I've got beautiful posture, have a goofy personality and just love people. Won't you give me a chance?

If you'd like to see me as of the end of March, scroll down and you'll see the newest video of me!

If you're interested in me and would like more information, please contact Deborah: deborah@eskierescuers.org. You can also visit our website and sign-up to fill out an adoption application and learn more about our adoption process.

Thank you and WOOF!

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
