Mischief came to ERU after my dog walker who works at the Caroline County Humane Society told me about him. He is 8 years old however looks and acts like he is 16 and weighs about 15lbs. He was turned into the shelter in 2019 when his original owner had to go into a facility. The owners caregiver checked on him multiple times and decided to adopt him. Fast forward to a year later. He was turned in again due to being old. He will be vetted in a couple days and we will then know what we are dealing with. He is a sweet boy and deserves better than what he got. He will live with me at Haileeacres for the rest of his life. He has his best days ahead for however long. He will be listed as a sponsorship.
Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.
If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers. There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.
