Hello, my name is Sunshine, I am an 8-year-old American Eskimo dog, they tell me I am one bright, sweet and lovable boy.  My foster moms likes to call me Pooh because I look like a little bear.  I have lots of energy and love to play fetch, my foster mom has taught me to actually bring that ball back after she throws it, I used to keep it for myself, but bringing it back is more fun.  I love to play outside and when my human comes out with me, it’s even better, I will bark with joy and stand up on my hind legs to greet you.
I admit it, I am like my sister Cosmo, I love to chase and hunt lizards, we have lots of them in GA, they don’t always get away from me either, I’m fast. I would love a fenced yard that I could safely explore.
While I love to play, I also love to be a couch potato, and I might jump in your lap before you ask me to and give you that Eskie smile for a belly rub. I can be a stilly boy, but why not have fun!  I’ll also steal your chair when you get up, since it’s warm and cozy.
I mentioned my sister, Cosmo, we have been together our entire lives, our world was suddenly changed when our father got sick, so I like to watch over her and make sure all is well.  I guess that’s why we need so much love and don’t like to see other furry kids getting attention from our human, so it would be best if we were the only two fur kids.  But I assure you we are all you need, just good kids with lots of love and fun to offer.

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
