Hello, my name is Sissy,

I can’t remember much about my life and don’t know what I did to end up in a shelter.    In November, I was put in a night drop box at a shelter in a small town in Tennessee.  The people at the shelter knew I was special. Eskie Rescue United saw my picture on Petfinder and my wonderful foster Mom showed up and saved me.  When she picked me up from that place, I was in a lot of pain and my breath smelled terrible.  No one told my foster mom that almost all my teeth were decayed.  She rushed me to Georgia to her friend's house who works for a vet.  First thing Monday morning, I was at the doctor's office and he had to pull 13 teeth – ouch!  When the pain started going away, I realized I was really hungry.  I ate and ate and ate.  I think all those bad teeth made me sick, 'cause now that I’m all better I run and play like I’m a puppy again.

I'm a confident quiet little lady - I love to lounge on a comfy chair or follow my foster mom around to see what she is doing.  I am a southern lady so, of course, I’m house-trained and I don’t bark often. I get along with all of my foster mom's seven dogs, but sometimes the younger ones are annoying.  My foster mom takes me for car rides with her two "favorite dogs," so I guess that means I'm a "favorite," too.  I'm heartworm negative, have all my shots, and am spayed.

ERU has been so good to me – they’re great people, but I would love to have a forever family to call my own.  A family who would love me, take good care of my health, brush me, and never put me in a night box at a shelter.

Good with Dogs

Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state.

If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers.

There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs.

Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Please click the donation button below to make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal and help make a difference to even one American Eskimo dog!
