Tess
Tess has lived at the Ranch since 2011, when she was rescued from a breeder in Canada who had over 60 eskies that needed to be rehomed. Chicagoland and ERU helped by taking several senior and special needs eskies, while Canadian rescue groups helped to rehome the younger dogs. Little Tess was adopted to a wonderful family but Tess never became comfortable. She stayed in a corner of one room except when she was out on her daily walks. When the family brought her back to me she turned into a different dog - happy to be "home." Tess Lived out the remainder of her life at the Randallstown Reskie Retirement Ranch.........Heidi Ortmeyer, December 14, 2016

Lightning Bug Barker
Rescue is a double edged sword sometimes and today is one of those times. RIP sweet Lightning, run free and wild. You were loved our little peanut. Our Lightning Bug was very ill. Tests yesterday morning confirmed that she, like our Carl 3 months ago, had spleen hemangiosarcoma. She had been picking at her food for several days, not acting "right" and I had been talking with her wonderful vet all week. A very large tumor the size of an orange tumor appeared on Tuesday. It was growing rapidly and exhausting her. Lightning Bug took a turn for the worse yesterday evening. She crossed the Bridge at 6:33pm. It was the most peaceful crossing we have had. She was tired and ready. We are absolutely devastated....... Denise and Mark Barker November 9, 2016

Henry
Henry was a little 16 year old man riddled with arthritis, whom we pulled from a NC shelter shortly before he was scheduled to be euthanized. It's so sad when a senior dog, at the end of its days, finds himself no longer loved or wanted - and is either dumped in a shelter to be killed or tossed out on the street to die. Either way, alone and afraid. Our foster said, "Not on my watch" and Henry had a wonderful home, filled with love and care, for his remaining days. Sadly, I t wasn't very many. But today, when he was ready to leave us, Henry's foster daddy was there with him holding his paw and kissing him goodbye..........RIP Henry, run free and wild with the angels. October 29, 2016

Diamond
DIAMOND of FL was ADOPTED today! Here she is, enjoying the outdoors with her forever daddy, savoring the fresh air and sunshine. Total contentment..... Last night Diamond became very sick with an URI and high fever, and she was rushed to the ER vet. X-rays determined she also had a very large mass in her lung plus mammary tumors. Her blood work supported probable cancer. We had hoped for some hospice time with her, but sadly, while snuggling in her daddy's arms this afternoon, Diamond had a seizure and peacefully died a few minutes later. Another R'Eskie is running free on the bridge. RIP sweet Diamond, you left us much too soon. Your forever daddy cherished his time with you........October 11, 2016.

Snow
Snow was found abandoned in a field - starving, neglected, and wrapped in barbed wire. She was an old girl when she came to Eskie Rescuers, and all she wanted and asked for was a soft bed, good food, a little exercise and love. To our surprise, a very kind lady wanted to adopt her and lavish her final years, or months, with exceptional care and love. Snow was very pampered and cherished her final 9 months. Sadly, her body, so ravaged from its previous neglect, gave out on her and her mommy had to say goodbye to her. But before she departed, Snow knew kindness, care and love.........September 2016
